Desensitizing Gel makes the tooth whitening process more comfortable. As all bleaching gel in most instances causes some degree of tooth sensitivity, we recommend the use of desensitizing gel following a tooth bleaching session.

This gel syringe pack includes One 3 ml unflavored syringe in a viscous gel-like consistency containing 3% potassium nitrate (the same ingredient found in Sensodyne toothpaste) and 0.11% weight by weight fluoride ion.

This desensitizing gel is formulated to be used in molded trays.

• Desensitizing gel is most commonly used for post-bleaching tooth sensitivity. However, its use can be extended to relieve tooth discomfort resulting from root exposure which may occur from gum recession, thermal and chemical changes, following gum surgery or even toothbrush abrasion.
• The desensitizing gel is applied in the same manner as the bleaching gel and is used after each bleaching session as needed. It should NOT be mixed or applied with bleaching gel. 
• If sensitivity is localized, place the gel in the affected area (s) and a small amount in the molar region to hold the tray in place.
• The length and number of times the tray is worn depends on the degree of tooth sensitivity.  Recommended treatment times can range from 15 minutes to 8 hours. Usually 2 to 4 hours is sufficient.
• Tray should be removed at meal times. Following tray removal, patient should brush and rinse teeth with water. As with bleaching gel DO NOT swallow solution during rinsing. Wash tray and store in a tray storage case.
• Fresh gel should be used with each application. Gel may be warmed before placing in tray to avoid thermal sensitivity. Keep out of heat and/or sunlight at all times.
• We recommend to store in a dark cool cabinet and to refrigerate for long term storage. Desensitizing gel may be stored at room temperature.
